this is my teach task to do.

 1. Consider the hand tools that you may use in the woodwork shop.

  • Chisel, bench, mallet, hand saw.

2. Consider how they are used accurately and safely.

  • Make finishing or paring cuts with hand pressure alone. When keeping the chisels on the workbench, always place them with the bevel side up. Place chisels safely within the plastic protective caps to cover cutting edges when not in use. Replace any chisel that is bent or shows dents, cracks, chips, or excessive wear.

3. How should they be stored to be sure that they are in good condition?

  • Put them apart and don’t let them touch each other.

4. Think about the way we should behave in a busy workshop to keep safe.

  • sensible

5. Can you imagine a situation that could result in an accident?

  • You could get your hand cut off by a saw.

6. Produce a short list of “Safety Rules” that we could display in the workshop to remind us of safe working habits.

  • Keep your station tidy.

  • Keep your tools apart.

  • Listen to instructions

  • concentrate

  • Be sensible
